Under the soft light of everyday life, Rui Faquini with extreme sensitivity and sharp yes, which were to became his trademarks, bring us the tensions and dissent underneath the apparent calm that were to became one of the most fierce ethnical fight in modern history, that  tore apart former Yugoslavia Republic into a handful of independent states.

Yugoslavia , a dictatorship under General Tito, was no easy task to be pictured  at that time. The hardships endured by Rui Faquini are felt throughout the images, adding to them a mystical significance that enhances the than young photographer technical skills.

Encoberta pela luz suave do dia a dia, a tensão e desagregação que desembocariam numa das mais selvagens lutas étnicas da história de nossos dias, e que transformou a antiga República da Iugoslávia em um punhado de estados independentes, é retratada por Rui Faquini , com extrema sensibilidade e um olhar acurado, que viriam a se tornar sua marca registrada.

A Iugoslávia, então uma ditadura comandada pelo General Tito, não era uma tarefa fácil de se fotografar. As dificuldades vividas, pelo então jovem Rui Faquini , são sentidas em cada fotografia, agregando um significado místico, que tornam mais vívidas as cores de sua excepcional técnica.
